Genaeral Features

Generalities
The ID Series motors are square-shaped laminated sheet motors. They are manufactured in shaft heights sizes from 90 to 250. Each motor is available in three lengths (S,M,L ) in sizes 90, 100, 112 and in four lengths (S,M,L and P) in sizes 132 to 250. All motors have 4 wound poles, together with their auxiliary poles. The 160 to 250 sizes may also incorporate compensation windings located under the main poles, (except the 250 size, which always incorporates them as standard).

Design
The motors are designed with cutting-edge technology and are capable of operating with d.c. electronic speed changers in 2 and 4 quadrant, with both bridge rectifier employing tyristors, and changers that make use of switching transistors.
The criteria adopted for the magnetic circuit configuration, permits the current torque to be completely linear and to hence obtain total speed stability (even at very low revolutions). In addition to this, a high dynamic response is obtained, together with high torque in relation to the reduced size and low noise level, with hardly any vibration.

Supply
The voltages envisaged to supply both armature and field circuits are standardised ones in taking three phase nets of 230/400 Volts at 50/60 Hz.

Standards
Motors are manufactured following the regulations and recommendations of the International Electrotechnical Commission, for Rotating Machines EN 6000-34-1 and following.

 

Working Conditions

Duty
Operating in S1 Continuous Duty. Overloads of 1,6 times the rated torque for 15 seconds every 5 minutes, without surpassing the mean square current during a maximum period of 5 minutes can be admitted.

Operating Environment
The maximum ambient temperature may reach 40°C; a maximum altitude of 1000 m. a.s.l. can be admitted.

IP23 Protection
Protected against solid objects greater than 12 mm in diameter and against water spray directed at an angle of up to 60° with regard to the vertical.

Cooling
Types IC06/IC17/IC37 by means of forced ventilation, are admitted.

Insulation
Specific materials able to withstand class H temperatures up to 180° are used. Nevertheless we limit the operating of our ID Motors at class F 140°, in order to achieve a longer life and reliability of all components.

 

Designs and Fitting

Standard machine design is B3/IM1001 (feet), under request flange design or other designs as B5/IM3001 or B3/B5/IM2001 are also available.

 

Constructive
Particulars

Magnetic circuit
The rotor circuit consists of low loss magnetic plate, which is completely inserted into the shaft.
The casting is formed from pressure-stacked smooth plate. In the 90, 100 and 112 sizes, the poles form part of the group, whereas in the other sizes, they are inserted by means of cotter holes, except for the 250 size, where, due to its size, they are fixed in place using screws.

Windings
Windings are made of enamelled copper wire or flat sections (depending on power), with temperature class H and degree 2. Insulation are also class H and connections are brazed.

Varnishing
A resin-impregnated fibre glass fabric tray is previously constructed in the armature winding heads and then total impregnation with the varnish is carried out, both of the armature and stator, by means of a vacuum autoclave process.

Shields or Covers
These are cast metal, and contain aperture for air entry or exit, and also incorporate the fixing bases, which make use of feet and/or clamps.

Bearings
Bearings are located in the frame shield. Up to frame 160, sealed for life ball bearings are used, on 180 and 200 size are roller bearings at the drive shaft end and frames 225 and 250 ball bearings are used and they must be sealed.

Terminal Box
Until size 200 frames the terminal boxes are made of aluminium and include a metallic cover plate in which the opening for the required ø supply cables can be drilled. Internally a terminal block has been fitted for the electrical connection.

Thermal protection
All machines are provided with one thermistor fitted to the field winding and another fitted to the auxiliary poles winding, both are serially connected and duly identified on the terminal plate. They are PTC type.

Cooling
The cooling assembly consists in an electrofan properly sized to each motor, accordingly to the air flow and pressure required to achieve an optimum internal cooling. They are also provided with an air intake filter fitted to avoid the intake of foreign bodies. The standard voltage is 230/400V 50Hz and 460 V 60 Hz in accordance to EN 60034 standard.

Balancing
Balancing is carried out to EN 60034-14 standard with half key and in class N. Under request, class R balancing can be supplied.
