CPT and GPSC joined force to Exchange Expertise for Power Quality and Electrical Systems Development to Support the Energy Sector

Amid continuously rising energy demand and integrative expansion of renewable energy, effective management of power generation capacity has become a major challenge for energy operators to ensure efficiency, compatibility, and long-term system stability.

CPT Drives and Power Public Company Limited (CPT) had the opportunity to welcome Global Power Synergy Public Company Limited (GPSC) — one of Thailand's leading electricity producers and distributors — to exchange knowledge and approaches for developing electrical systems in support of efficient generation capacity expansion. Mr. Monchai Thunthanase, Managing Director of Sales and Engineering, together with Mr. Noppadol Wichienkuer, Managing Director of Technical and Tendering, extended a warm welcome to the executives and engineers from GPSC, while Dr. Theerasak Patcharoen, General Manager of Design and Engineering, served as the main instructor delivering extensive engineering contents in the capacity of a power quality specialist.

During the session, CPT exchanged perspectives on the challenges of expanding power plant capacity, including increasing system loads, managing reactive power, controlling harmonics, and maintaining power quality in accordance with relevant standards and regulations. The team presented contexts in power quality and optimized solutions across LV, MV, and HV levels, such as Active Harmonic Filter (AHF), Static Var Generator (SVG), and MV Capacitor Bank citing studies on resolving harmonic issues, reactive power compensation, and reducing system energy losses. The GPSC delegation also toured CPT's manufacturing, assembly, product testing facilities, and experienced a live technology demonstration at the CPT Demonstration Center.

This event further reinforced CPT’s readiness as a solutions partner to support the country’s leading energy customers to embrace the growth and future demands successfully and sustainably.
