BETAGRO Visits CPT to Advance ESG Goals, Exploring Power Quality to Elevate Solar System with SVG Solutions

Today, clean energy from Solar plays a significant role in the agriculture and food industry, helping to reduce energy costs and environmental impact. Hence, developing electrical systems to accommodate solar power at full efficiency has become a key enabler for organisations to utilise clean energy effectively and sustainably over the long term.

Betagro Public Company Limited (BETAGRO) — Thailand’s leading fully integrated agro-industrial and food company — which is firmly committed to sustainable business practices in line with ESG principles and has continuously adopted Solar systems to drive its transition towards clean energy, visited CPT Drives and Power Public Company Limited (CPT) to discuss approaches for developing power quality as a foundation for clean energy utilisation, aligning it with the operation of the factory’s Solar system and supporting efficient production capacity expansion. The delegation was welcomed by Mr. Noppadol Wichienkuer, Managing Director of Technical and Tendering, and Mr. Monchai Thunthanase, Managing Director of Sales and Engineering.

CPT’s engineering team provided in-depth insights on managing the Power Factor variations arising from solar power generation, as well as maintaining power quality in accordance with relevant standards, presenting Static Var Generator (SVG) technology for continuous reactive power compensation, together with MV Capacitor Bank and Active Harmonic Filter (AHF) for holistic power quality management — along with success cases from Power Factor improvement and reduction of system energy losses in past projects. In addition, the Betagro delegation toured CPT’s manufacturing, assembly, and product testing facilities, and experienced a live technology demonstration at the CPT Demonstration Center, which offered a clearer picture of the technologies in action.

This exchange of vision reflects CPT’s readiness to advance power quality development together with the nation’s leading companies, bringing clean energy from Solar systems into production at full potential and with lasting stability over the long term.
